Women can find a great deal of freedom in online dating. For many it’s the only chance they might have to find the person who is really right for them. There may be very limited options within their own social network and sometimes being single can be a real problem if a woman’s social network is mainly made up of couples.

Looking outside their social network in the bricks and mortar world can also be difficult for a woman. She may be seen in the entirely wrong light by those that she meets outside her social network and any hope of establishing a lasting relationship might be dashed simply because she is outside that network.

That’s why online dating gives women much more freedom. They can move in circles far removed from their social network without even leaving the safety of their own home. They can talk to complete strangers without being seen as something they are not and they can apply various filters to the guys who want to make contact without facing the difficulties that might arise when dealing face to face with men they hardly know.

Online dating also gives women the opportunity to look beyond their own borders and to find someone who is not ‘tarnished’ with the social mores of her own country. For many educated women who are trapped in countries where they are considered to be lesser beings that’s a benefit of online dating that is invaluable.

Of course there are dangers for women in online dating. They can’t see the people they are dealing with, they can’t assess their body language or look into their eyes and see what might be hidden there. But if women exercise reasonable caution they can filter out those people that aren’t suitable and they can find the right person to establish a relationship with.
